SLIME.... I'm not into it.. ....It's just my opinion of this new trend...

Okay, so you have probably heard of the latest trend that is

SLIME

Okay so if you haven't slime is one of the newest trends that all girls and even boys will play with non-stop. Now me on the other hand, am not really into it. You have to be a expert at making slime. I cannot make slime right. If you have seen the videos of people making slime and it comes out with the perfect texture, color and slimey-ness not all over their hands, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to make it that way. When I make it it turns out like the texture of mud, food coloring all over my hands so that my hands are now smurf status for a week and slime is all over my clothes and hands, even under my fingernails. So that is why I am not into the slime trend

So when you think of slime you think of the gooey slime that you made in preschool. WELL it turns out that there are MANY and I say many different kinds of slime. Some are...

and many others! but i cant find good pictures.....

Anyway my friend is a slime master and I'm so bad at making slime that one day in Science class we made slime and mine came out horrible (like usual) so i asked my friend if she could maybe add some stuff to my slime to make it PERFECT like all the ones I see on the internet. She took it home with her that day. The next day in the morning she came up to me and said, "There's nothing I can do to make this even the slightest bit better.... sorry". So there is an example of one of the many times I have screwed up making slime.

Now I am not trying to offend anyone in the slime universe but I am soooooooo annoyed with all those cheesy slime making videos! The ones where the girl in that VERY high- pitched voice says "HI GUYS TODAY I'M GOING TO BE MAKING SLIME! I LOVE SLIME SOOOOOO MUCH I HAVE A VERY LARGE COLLECTIONS EEEEEEEE UNICORNS RAINBOWS CUPCAKES YAAAAYYYY!". Yeah no. So I will skip through the slime making part to the end where the annoying part (to me) is. The part where the POKE the slime to death FOLD it 1 million and then STRETCH it like crazy! UGH. And don't even get me STARTED with that gross wet slimey squishy sound! BLAH. Now some people will make videos of just that! Oh my goodness I would rather hear nails on a chalkboard then slime noises. Again if you are reading this and really do love slime poking folding and stretching then please don't be offended. It is just my opinion.

One thing that I really do no like is when they use a racket and press the slime with it. Then it makes bubbles when it comes down which is kind of satisfying to look at but then they VERY AGGRESSIVELY start squeezing it and squishing it. It hurts my eyes just to look at. :| Here is a example.

First they press it down

Then they lift it up

Then it comes down to make a bubble (satisfying right?)

AND THEN THE SQUISH IT VERY AGGRESSIVELY!!!!!

Here watch this so you can see what I mean.

That's all for now. Bye!

Fidget Cubes and Spinners

Image result for fidget cube and spinner

Have you ever been in class or at a lame conference meeting and was tapping your fingers or pencil. Clicking our pen 5 million times and you just want to get rid of the habit or just need something else to do so the teacher wont yell at you to stop. WELL I HAVE THE THING JUST FOR YOU! Fidget Cubes and Spinners! These are being worshiped at my school... So whats a fidget cube and spinner you ask. WELL a fidget cube is a cube with things to click, flip, roll and spin.

Still don't have one...

This was the first thing that everyone wanted. It was so cool to have a cube to fiddle with. You were awesome is you had a cool red or black one. But then people starting seeing that fidget spinners were the other fidget toy called the Fidget Spinner!

Yasssss
It is the thing to have! You hold your index finger and thumb on the finger bands in the center and you spin it! ..... Okay sound more lame when you say it but its actually really fun and good to break habits. So on Monday I asked my mom if I could do some chores to earn some money to buy one. Then my dad mentioned that my cousin Vic makes them. I was like ''WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE I COULD HAVE HAD A FIDGET SPINNER A LONG TIME AGO!!!'' Just Kidding. My dad showed my some of the spinners he made on his 3D Printer Machine thingy. So my mom texted him how much for one. He responded very fast saying he sells them for five dollars but since we were family he would give my one free and get this CUSTOM MADE. So he sent me a link o look at different designs for the spinner. I chose one and he got started making it. The next morning my mom said it was done. Man he is fast! Mom showed me the picture of the finished product...

I was so amazed on how fast he made it and how BEAUTIFUL it looks! He even has my nickname on the finger pad. He says it spins for forever too! Thanks again Vic for making this for me its awesome! Now all the kids will be jealous of me. Mwahaha. Phi out.

Interviewing my Mom on her Love for Art

For this project I chose to interview my mom on her love for art. She has loved art for many years.
She takes us to many art museums and surrounds us with art in our own home. She also loves Frida Kahlo and her art as well. I asked her three questions on her love for art.

The first question I asked her was 'What got you into loving art in the first place?' She told me that she started a Chicano Art class in college. She thought "art was for rich people and art museums.". But when she saw this artist named Carmen Lomas Garza's artwork she saw her and her family. There were her cousins hitting a pinata and her aunts and uncles eating conchas! She was amazed to see how much Chicano art was so realistic to her life.

My second question was why is Frida Kahlo your favorite artist? She started off telling me that when she was in Mexico she went to La Casa Azul waiting for her lost luggage. As soon as she walked in she could feel the presents of Frida. She felt so inspired. She read a biography on Frida and fell in love. She said that she went to a Frida exhibit and saw many of her actual paintings. "It kind of has the same feeling like music does". She said it was the only museum she had seen with Frida Kahlo's artwork.

My third question was what is your favorite piece of art of all time? She sighed. I knew this was going to be a hard question for her. She started explaining all of her personal art she has collected. "The special commissions that were made for me will always hold a special place in my heart" she said. She loves all of her personal paintings the same. But if she had to chose a big artists art piece she would have to chose 'The Two Frida's'. She said it is larger than she thought. She also that art piece at the Frida exhibit she went to. She loves the brush stokes and all the little details in the painting.

I had one more question to her. Do you draw or paint at all? She laughed. "I would not consider myself a artist". She told me that she likes to write and she also found a liking for photography. But she has started making lunch notes for Sophia (me) everyday. Each are random, either a funny picture or quote. She found out that if you practice just a little bit everyday you will definitely improve!

I very much enjoyed interviewing my mom. I now understand more about my mom and why she
loves Frida so much. I also know many new things like her favorite piece of art. As well as why her personal art is so close to her. I hope to interview again sometime on some of her other hobbies like photography or writing. Thanks again mom for taking the time and letting my interview you. Phi out.

Bowers Museum

So if you have read my moms blog you probably know that show loves Frida Kahlo. Well at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana they were having a exhibit of her photos she has. My mom was very excited about this! We went with my Tia's too!

Image result for bowers museum frida kahlo

It was beautiful to see her and her family in all of the pictures. If you don't know who Frida is (you should cause shes flippin awesome!) she was a famous artist. She was born on July 6, 1907 and died on July 13, 1954. She was a artist and loved to paint. She was in a terrible bus accident in September 17, 1925 that changed her life forever.

Image result for bowers museum frida kahlo

She still wanted to paint though. She had a easel that was specifically made for her to hang over her bed. She made beautiful paintings many were over her and her pain.

Her art is beautiful and it always inspires me. That's it for now. Phi out.

The Bookmark Contest

So me, my sister Louie and my mom go to my local library ever Thursday after my after school program. I have gone to the library ever since I was little. I used to do the kid programs all the time. One Thursday we walked into the library and checked out our books and I noticed a flyer that said (not going to say the name of the library) library bookmark contest. Design a bookmark showing what you love about the books or library. I could have made many bookmarks about what I love about this library but the most we could submit three entries. I decided to make two entries. One was for one of the librarians. Her name is Nell. She used to do all the programs that I would go to. She is so nice and helpful. She is great at telling stories and even remembering names! So I made a bookmark that had her name and a nice design. Then my second is me sitting on a couch reading a book and I am thinking of all the things that are in the book. I think it came it pretty good! I turned it into the library. So months later in March my mom got a miss call that said that I had won for the 6th to 8th grade! I was so happy and surprised.

I may have went over board with the pixalating...

I am so happy that I won. That's it for today. Phi Out.

Memes for Dayzzzz

So after reading the title your probably think 'what in tar-nations are memes?!' Well, memes are a typically thing that takes over your brain from middle school to high school. They are funny pictures with funny captions. Many kids at my school say the phrases are make the faces of the meme all the time. I may use some phrases like...

Image result for triggered memes

Image result for memes cash me outside howbow dahImage result for you like jazz           Yes it even hits innocent kids movies

But for some reason they are the only thing kids look at! Even on the Chromebooks at our school some of the kids wallpapers are memes! Mine may be a meme as well but lets not dwell on that...

Anyway here are some more examples of memes...

Image result for memesImage result for memesImage result for memesImage result for memesImage result for memesImage result for memes                                                                                                             This one is just hilarious!

So yeah memes will probably take over the world someday. Phi out.

Hamilton... I'm obsessed

Image result for hamilton
So Hamilton is a musical by Lin Manuel Miranda. It is about Alexander Hamilton and his life. The soundtrack is almost three hours long. I love Hamilton so much that we have the book with the lyrics and notes from Lin Manuel Miranda of the songs. I know some of the songs by heart. One of my favorites is Satisfied by Renee Elise Goldsberry, who plays Angelica Schuyler. She is a amazing singer. Check it out.

So after I got obsessed with Hamilton my friend showed me a Hamilton 'anamatic'. A anamatic is a like a animation but not super detailed. Like a quickly sketched animation. This is one is Take a Break

This youtuber is not posting on that channel anymore but you can check out the other ones on that channel still. They are all amazing!

So as you know I like to draw and I think I draw Hamilton 95% of the time. I draw scenes from the show and characters.

So that's it for today! See you soon. Phi out.

I also like to listen to music. Specifically Hamilton (yes) and new pop music. My art is really just people. It's all I draw. Period. Here are a few examples...

This is me...

I like to draw a lot of Hamilton

I mostly use my Prismacolor Markers to color big projects. I am thinking of starting to put some of my art up for sale.

I write little story's are blog.

I have this disease called eczema. Mine is severe. Eczema is when you have rashes and cuts and its hard to control it. Mine is pretty much all over my body. My feet is the worst place. It is also in my creases in my arms in legs as well. It hurts to take showers with eczema too. And some ointment and lotions hurt. I am pretty clear at this moment except my feet which are sort of rashed out.

So that is pretty much it from me. I will try to post AT LEAST once a week. So yeah Phi out.

Hi There!

Hey everyone (When I mean everyone I just mean that one person who reads my blog) it is the one and only Sophia Lerma here and today's blog is going to be about my Middle School life right now. So here goes nothing. WARNING: This may be a long blog since I love writing. (I am in Creative Writing BTW.)

Middle School was a whole new chapter of my life! It's definitely a change since I was home schooled and being home or at the office all day. Now I wake up at 7:40 am and get ready for school. That was so early to me when I was home schooled. I am getting use to the new (early) time. If you were wondering, yes I have made lots of friends. First is my best friend Sina. NOT John Sina. If you meet her never call her that! Then there is Alyssa. She was my best friend from Calvary. I have not seen her in like four years! She has become a funny talented friend of mine. Then *sigh* there is Wyatt. Alyssa had a crush on him since day one. She would talk about him non stop! Then about two weeks after school started they finally started dating. FOR TWO DAYS!!! I still can't get over that. Wyatt was sad for a week then we started hanging out with him again. So its all good. There is also Sophia, Amanda, Kat, and Andrea. My classes are alright. My favorite is Science. Its very hands on. My least is Math. As usual. If your wondering "I bet Sophia hates the mile" its actually not that bad! I have been doing better!

So yeah. That's my Middle School life so far! Phi out.
